Makhana, also known as Fox Nut or Lotus Seed (Euryale ferox), is an aquatic crop native to the wetlands of Bihar, India. It is a nutrient-dense superfood containing 9.7% protein, less than 0.1% fat, and 76.9% carbohydrates per 100g (source: Indian Journal of Traditional Knowledge, 2020). Bihar produces over 90% of the world's Makhana supply, with India exporting approximately 5,000+ metric tons annually. It is widely used in health food, snacking, traditional medicine, and religious fasting meals across Asia and the Middle East.

The minimum order quantity (MOQ) for bulk Makhana export from WONDERMERCH TRADE LLP is 1 Metric Ton (1,000 kg). We offer containerized shipments in 20ft and 40ft containers, with an annual supply capacity of 500+ Metric Tons. Packaging options include 5kg–15kg PP bags for raw Makhana and custom retail-ready packaging for OEM/private label orders.

WONDERMERCH TRADE LLP holds FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) certification, APEDA RCMC (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) registration, Halal certification for Middle East and Southeast Asian markets, and operates from an ISO 22000 certified processing facility. All shipments include Certificate of Analysis (COA), Phytosanitary certificate, Certificate of Origin (COO), and Health certificates.

We supply three primary product lines: (1) Raw Phool Makhana — naturally popped, non-roasted, graded 4+ to 6+ Soot sizes with the highest expansion ratio for snack manufacturers; (2) NPOP/NOP Certified Organic Makhana — with full farm-to-port traceability, ideal for EU and US health food importers; and (3) Roasted/OEM Bulk Makhana — custom roasted with plain or custom seasonings, available in bulk 5kg bags or retail-ready packaging.

We offer flexible Incoterms including FOB (Mundra/Kolkata ports), CIF, and CFR for both sea and air shipments. Lead time is 15–21 days from order confirmation to port delivery. Full export documentation is provided including COO, Phytosanitary certificate, COA, Bill of Lading, and Health certificates. We currently export to 30+ countries worldwide.

Every batch undergoes a rigorous 4-stage quality process: (1) Direct cluster procurement during optimal harvest windows in Bihar; (2) Popping, grading, and moisture-level stabilization to max 12% moisture content; (3) Precision optical Sortex cleaning achieving 99.5% freedom from black spots and impurities; and (4) Export-grade vacuum-sealed packaging with containerized loading for sea transit. Each shipment is verified with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) meeting international food safety norms.
